Hello friends. Occasionally you need to do something ... just because. No challenges, this time I'm creating for friends. A wonderful group of ladies that spend the afternoon playing with papers, talking and laughing together. It's our local "artist guild" and we have such fun. August is our chance to get a head start on the holidays. I wish you could all come over!
This project never made it to my blog when it was created long ago. Since our "guild" has already created this beauty, I share it with you here and later on ETSY. The flower is crocheted and you'll find more corduroy buttons on the Clearance Rack.
This next card uses scraps in shades of red and black along with Crumb Cake card stock. The stamps are from Winter Post and the sentiment from a retired set. Some stitching here and there adds interest and a button with Bakers Twine texture.
Before I go, thank you Sylvia for the little bird card ... it's adorable!
And thank you all for stopping by. (Time for some banana bread!)
two beautiful cards! I like the sound of banana bread! : )
ReplyDeleteThese are both so beautiful, Joanne .... and in "my" colours!! Wish I could be part of your guild; what fun!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors of your cards, and skating image is so adorable! What a lovely card you received too!
ReplyDeleteJoanne, LOVELY cards both! I want to learn how to crochet every time I see those pretty flowers on cards! LOVE the button! Wish i could play with the artist guild, too!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful Joanne ... love your crochet doily and your bows are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThese are both exquisite! Classy Christmas cards for sure - gorgeous. Something about red and white that is so attractive!
ReplyDeleteThey're both beautiful cards, Joanne. I love your take on using scraps of paper as your background on the second card. :) And, yes, sometimes it's good to do a card "just because"!
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are gorgeous!!! LOVE the colour combo and how your buttons are not "naked" lol!
ReplyDeleteYour cards are both so beautiful.. I really need to start making some Christmas cards.. I brought my yarn along on Vacation.. I won't be crocheting flowers.. Just trying to get my afghan done.. Hope you have a wonderful weekend..
ReplyDeleteHugs, Linda
Both cards are breathtaking; the second one is my favorite. It's one of the most amazing vintage chirstmas cards I've ever seen. That skating couple is ap erfect reflection of the vintage "look". And paired up with a perfect mix of patterned papers...sigh...
ReplyDeleteYour first card is a lovely way to use a classic shade of red for a christmas card. Your crocheted flower is priceless and your bow is fab; as usual!
Hugs!
